Cyanide prevents the cells from using oxygen to make energy molecules, tissues requiring this form of energy are the heart muscles and nerve cells. Death is usually by respiratory or heart failure.

FAQs
Cyanide deteriorates and detoxifies in humid or wet conditions.
Once you have completed a line, destroy poison baits before leaving area.
You can use sugar in your prefeed or lures, but when laying poison bait place it to the side of the prefeed or lure.
The sugar reacts to the cyanide and releases the hydrogen cyanide which kills the possum.
You will get a more successful result prefeeding as possums travel extensively and usually bring the whanau the second night!
Do NOT put the tube under direct heat.
Cyanide paste is oil based so warm tube up in hands.
Extra vegetable oil can be added carefully.
Pea size bait is normal and two to three portions per bait station is suggested depending on possum population in area.

You can use various certifiers nationally and prices can vary on application.
